  • We are very excited to welcome the Company debut of Mexican tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz at the California Center for the Performing Arts, Escondido. Mr. Chacón-Cruz has established himself in recent years as a leading tenor with exciting appearances in renowned theaters and concert halls across the globe. He has sung over 60 roles in more than 30 countries. He is the 2005 winner of the Operalia Competition. Recently Chacón-Cruz was asked why people should listen to his an upcoming concert. He responded: "I think it’s a good way to allow yourself to be vulnerable and to allow yourself to process a lot of what we are feeling. I want it to be cathartic. I want it to be something that will encourage you if you have tears in you to let them out if you have despair to change it for hope. Music has this ability to find within you to look forward.   • The intent of Foodie Fest is to reignite the City of El Cajon restaurant/food services industry while celebrating the community’s diversity, supporting a major local non-profit and increasing a presence in Downtown El Cajon. The event will be hosted on Saturday, October 9 from 4-8 p.m. Pre-event ticket sales are available now. Pre-event ticket costs will be $4 youth ages 2-12 years and $8 for 13 years to adult. Day of ticket sales (while supplies last) will be $5 youth ages 2-12 years and $10 for 13 years to adult. Only 5,000 tickets will be sold. The San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce will feature up to 40 restaurants, catering services and food trucks for tasters for all the ticket holders. The Downtown El Cajon Business Partners will feature entertainment for free to all that will be a regional draw. The St. Madeline Sophie Center will feature free arts and crafts for all ages.

  • This season’s “Women in Music Festival” focuses on the role women have had on both music composition and performance in our history. The final performance will showcase The Organ Pavilion Rock Band. Featuring some of the best Rock musicians in San Diego, the Organ Pavilion Rock Band has set itself apart by delivering powerful performances of Rock classics with the unique sound provided by the Spreckels Organ. A mix of Rock and Classically-trained artists bring the Rock Classics to a new level.
