  • Members of the San Diego Symphony and FF Collective are partnering with a Ukrainian refugee flutist to perform a benefit concert to fund relief efforts for 60 members of Ukraine’s premier youth orchestra who are displaced in Poland because of the war in their home region. Admission is free, with all donations going to the Youth Academic Symphony Orchestra of Kharkiv and Doctors Without Borders work in Ukraine. The family-friendly concert features Ukrainian music, and will be an hour long. Participants include the San Diego Symphony, FF Collective, Artonic Quartet, the San Diego Cello Foundation and Uktranian flutist Daria Hudymemko, of the the Lviv National Philharmonic. Hudymemko was an exchange scholar at a university in the U.S. when Russia invaded Ukraine, and has been unable to return to her home and orchestra.
