Held in the laid-back beach town of Encinitas, the annual celebration blends authentic Bavarian traditions with distinctly California cool. Think steins of German beer, sizzling bratwurst, live oompah music, artisan shopping, a dog costume contest, craft beer gardens, kids' activities, dancing in the streets, and thousands of festivalgoers celebrating under sunny coastal skies. More than 10,000 attendees are expected for this year's milestone event, which spans several blocks and transforms Encinitas into a vibrant open-air festival celebrating both the city's German roots and its eclectic surf-town personality.
