Finally, we are dedicated to innovation in the digital space by developing a web-based platform for people with disabilities to easily connect with services in their area, expanding access for all. This fun-filled event pairs animated film with live solo piano to introduce classical music to children ages 3–8. The main feature, "The Magic Piano," follows Anna and Chip-Chip on a magical journey aboard a flying piano. It is presented alongside "The Chopin Shorts," a collection of 2–3-minute films set to Chopin etudes, offering a vibrant exploration of his piano works. Together, these colorful, enchanting films create a near-complete overview of Chopin’s music for young audiences. The program has been performed at leading venues across the globe, including Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and the Hong Kong Arts Festival. La Mesa Oktoberfest returns October 2–4, 2026, bringing three days of authentic German-inspired fun, live entertainment, delicious food, and community celebration to the heart of La Mesa Village. As the city’s largest annual event, Oktoberfest welcomes tens of thousands of visitors with something exciting around every corner. Raise a stein in one of three unique biergartens, including the lively Hofbräuhaus Biergarten, the family-friendly Hop Haus on Palm, and the relaxed Craft Beer & Seltzer Garden. Beyond the bier, festivalgoers can enjoy everything from bratwurst, schnitzel, giant pretzels, and strudel to a wide variety of international flavors from local vendors. Artisan Alley also returns with handcrafted goods, gifts, home décor, fresh-baked treats, and more from talented local makers. The San Diego History Center is presenting a special exhibition this summer commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States: "America at 250: San Diego 1776–2026." We cannot tell the full story of San Diego’s past 250 years without including the voices and perspectives of our community. We are excited to offer several opportunities for local Girl Scouts to participate in this historic milestone. Scouts who take part in our museum field trips will receive an America 250 patch.
