In this 2-hour intermediate crochet workshop, you will learn to create beautiful crochet flowers and leaves using simple crochet stitches. These versatile flowers can be used for bouquets, holiday gift wraps, making wreaths, etc. Requirement: Recommended age is 9+years. Students must be able to hold a crochet hook & crochet basic stitches. This workshop is not for an absolute beginner who has never done crochet. A hot glue gun will be used in this class. The 44th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off Festival offers attendees eclectic fun in the sun for all ages. Tens of thousands of visitors will attend the event from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024, for a tasty festival nosh, art, beachfront entertainment, shopping, and more. Entry to the Street Fair is always free! The Chili Competition featured tastings from amateur entrants competing for the titles of Hottest Chili, Judges' Award, and Grand Prize: People's Choice Award. Chili Cook-Off - 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - The Chili Cook-Off competition is held in the grassy area between Newport Avenue and the Pacific. Competitors will show off their chili cooking chops by competing for great prizes... not to mention the satisfaction of winning! Is eating (rather than cooking) delicious chili more your speed? Put your tastebuds to the test and cast a vote alongside the judges! Chili tasting begins at 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Two Stages Of Continuous Music - There will be two stages of nonstop music throughout the day at the Annual OB Street Fair. Music genres will include acoustic, rock, blues, alternative, Americana, and more. The audiences will be entertained by musicians from everywhere - including right here in our own backyard. In this workshop we will uncover the soul of the writing with fun and interactive voice techniques to make the storytelling as dynamic as possible. Students will also learn how to craft smooth transitions as well as how to enter and exit a chapter or scene. Participants will gain a better understanding how to create a seamless text that takes the reader between past memories (flashbacks) and present-day experiences and observations. We will work on bringing the theme of the piece to life so that the manuscript will resonate with universal meaning. Symbolism will also be explored as a way to deepen the writing and flesh out the theme of your book.
