The group defends and advocates for public schools and library systems based on inclusivity and science. It provides training and tools for volunteers nationwide to engage with their communities. About “1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture” “1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture” speaks to the root of what Defense of Democracy organizers believe in: The accepted canon is not always true, and a healthy democracy must allow its citizens free access to many different points of view. “1946” was written, directed and produced by a team of award-winning filmmakers.
