  • Event Details Enjoy the beautiful melodies and high-energy rhythms of samba and bossa nova -- music made famous by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Sergio Mendes. This performance is inspired by the sunny beaches of Rio. Musicians Mark Danisovsky, Jeff Pekarek, Jim Lair, Ray Conseur, and Jean and Mike Stewart will perform an afternoon of toe-tapping fun for all ages. Jean and Mike Stewart (guitar/vocals) Jim Lair (keyboard and vocals) Jean, Mike and Jim formed the “Raggle Taggle Band” over 30 years ago, providing themed entertainment at most of San Diego’s landmarks such as the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Safari Park, SeaWorld, the Star of India and the grand openings for Seaport Village, The Old Globe, and Horton Plaza. The band performed jazz, swing, bossa nova, Celtic, traditional sea shanty and English Renaissance music. Jean and Mike also specialize in live music programs for young children, and performed beloved weekly storytimes at Coronado Library for 10 years. Mark Danisovszky (Accordionist and Piano) Mark is a masterful musician performing professionally for Italian, French, Jewish, Oktoberfest, Irish, tango and jazz concerts and events as a soloist and in ensembles. Jeff Pekarek (aka Basile) (Bass, Guitar, Cello and Bouzouki) Jeff has over 30 years of experience as a professional musician and entertainer in numerous musical genres. He is also a music arranger and recording producer, an expert in international traditional folk music, and has taught classical and electric guitar, string bass and cello at The Bishop’s school in La Jolla. Ray Conseur (Drums/Percussion) Ray is a drummer, as well as a master of the cajon (rhythm box) and various exotic percussion instruments. He fine-tuned his craft playing traditional jazz at a number of well-known jazz festivals. He has performed in various groups ranging from Celtic, flamenco, Brazilian and steampunk, and has traveled with numerous successful jazz, rock and world-beat bands
