Solstice Feast at Barron Creek Farm! Seasonal 4-course dinner by Chef Jesse Bermudez of Rancho Valencia, live music from Daring Greatly, farm tour. All proceeds fund food access. We invite you to join us for a Special Solstice Feast Thursday, June 25, 5:30-8 p.m. at Barron Creek Farm. Gather with us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the longest days of the year, the bounty of the season, and the power of community. Chef Jesse Bermudez of Rancho Valencia returns to create a seasonal four-course meal featuring ingredients freshly harvested from the very fields where we will dine. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy live music from the lead singer of Daring Greatly in Patch and Maggi, meaningful conversation, and the beauty of the farm as the sun sets over the landscape. This special dinner is offered on a sliding scale of $100-$150 per guest, with all proceeds supporting Barron Creek Farm's mission to grow food and share it freely with community members who face barriers to accessing fresh, healthy produce. Every ticket purchased helps us cultivate more than crops, it helps us cultivate belonging, food security, environmental stewardship, and a stronger local food system for all. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a delicious herbal cocktail, a delightful charcuterie experience, live music and a farm tour. The festive buffet features summer favorites including Kansas City back ribs, 12-hour brisket with bourbon BBQ sauce, Southern fried chicken, cedar plank citrus roasted salmon, classic sides, and patriotic desserts. Guests can enjoy dining indoors or reserve a spot on the waterfront terrace, with the 7:30 p.m. seating offering prime views of the fireworks over San Diego Bay. Terrace seating is available by reservation and children 12 and under dine for $25. Locals can also take advantage of three hours of parking validation with a food or beverage purchase at Hudson & Nash, Odysea Lounge, or The Pool Club. To combat ongoing summer hunger, the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank partners with the San Diego Public Library to help bridge the meal gap for students and families who rely on free meals during the school year and ensure no one goes hungry. Through the San Diego Food Bank’s summer meals program and its continued collaboration with local partners, families can find nourishment and support in their own neighborhoods. Ten meal sites across the region are offering free food distributions to any San Diego youth aged 0 to 18, beginning June 3 through Aug. 27. There are no income requirements, ZIP-code restrictions, or identification needed, and meals will be offered to residents even if they are not enrolled in summer programming. Meals include fresh produce, proteins, and shelf-stable items such as rice, pasta, canned goods, granola bars, milk, juice, and peanut butter. They are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
