NOVO Brazil Brewing Company is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at its Chula Vista headquarters and taproom on Friday, March 15 starting at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy live music from rock, punk, and blues band The Agents of Apollo until 7:30 p.m. Then at 8 p.m., DJ Qenoe takes over. Food vendors for the evening include San Diego favorite Cali BBQ, along with Rico Rico Snack Bar and El Rey Tacos a Vapor. Earl Thomas and the Gospel Ambassadors are bringing Sister Leola with them for an intimate show at UC San Diego Park & Market, on Sunday, April 7, at 5 p.m. After a three-year hiatus, Earl Thomas is back on stage and going back to his gospel roots with the Gospel Ambassadors. The son of a bluesman and a gospel singer, Earl Thomas effortlessly blends the blues and gospel to create soulful, powerful music that continues both genre’s traditions as the soundtracks of African American culture. With infusions of contemporary rock, soul, and R&B sensibilities, Earl Thomas and The Gospel Ambassador’s catalog of songs will make everyone in attendance get out of their seat and move to the groove. The biggest event in classical music returns to San Diego June 20-29. The Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra Festival, led by Maestro Michael Francis, is the largest gathering of concertmasters and principal players from the nation’s top orchestras, who come together in San Diego every summer to form one remarkable orchestra for a limited six-concert series. This year, the orchestra will return to two La Jolla venues where it first held performances in 2023: the UC San Diego Epstein Family Amphitheater and The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center. “We are delighted to return to these two outstanding venues,” said Michael Francis, music director and conductor of the All-Star Orchestra. “Last year's concerts at UC San Diego’s Epstein Family Amphitheater were a real highlight for all of us and The Conrad has truly earned its reputation as one of the country’s great chamber music halls.” Featuring musicians from top U.S. orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra and more, Mainly Mozart’s All-Star Orchestra is the only orchestra of its kind in the country.
