She has managed the Longmont Humane Society’s volunteer photography program for the past 15 years, during which time she has photographed over 4,000 animals, accelerating their adoption in the local community. As someone who began her career in the pre-digital era, she has an abiding interest in photo restoration, digital archiving, and historical preservation. In her free time, you can usually find her browsing antique stores for old photographs, hiking the beautiful Colorado trails, reading, or spending time with family. This class meets weekly on Tuesdays, 3-4 times each month, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Ages 6-12 years welcome! In this 4-week ceramic hand-building series, students are led by Instructor-artist Lydia Kardos and will create functional and nonfunctional ceramic work using a variety of techniques and their imaginations. They will learn how to create with coils, slab construction and clay pinching methods. Students are so proud when they see the beauty of the final results as their pieces come out of the kiln. Students will create multiple pieces in this series, and learn how to glaze bisque ware for a finished piece of artwork. All materials included. This event is back for 2026! Recharge with outdoor yoga followed by a breathtaking interpretive hike at Mountain Meadow Preserve. This series is made possible through a generous grant from The Conrad Prebys Foundation. Happens on the 2nd Friday and 3rd Saturday of each month, weather permitting.
