The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival (LJAWF) returns to the heart of La Jolla on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025. This free, family-friendly weekend features over 170 juried artists from across the U.S. and Mexico, showcasing stunning works in painting, sculpture, jewelry, glass, ceramics, woodwork, photography, and more. This year’s featured artist is Gregg “Viz” Visintainer, known for his bold, detailed pen-and-ink illustrations. Art lovers, wine enthusiasts, and craft beverage fans alike will find plenty to enjoy, with a ticketed wine and beer garden featuring over 35 top-tier wineries, local breweries, and craft distilleries. The festivities also include the Geppetto’s Toys Family Art Center, a two-day silent auction, pet adoption stations, and live music and entertainment for all ages. Explore the many trees from around the world that provide the backdrop to “The Jewel of San Diego.” Many of the tree species along Balboa Park’s main El Prado walkway became so admired they were used to decorate the gardens and streets of San Diego, other coastal areas of Southern California, and beyond. Learn about their features, their history, their success, and how they became emblematic of Southern California. Forever Balboa Park offers thematic park tours that focus on the park’s unique biodiversity and highlight the park’s horticultural wonders on the first Saturday of each month. Led by park volunteer and horticultural enthusiast Bill Edwards, the free tours leave from the Visitors Center at 10 a.m. unless otherwise indicated. Walks last 90 minutes and are typically less than 1 mile on level terrain. It is advised that potential attendees contact the Balboa Park Visitors Center prior to the scheduled walk to determine if there are any last-minute changes or cancellations to the tours. Outside The Lens invites you to "Voice Out", its second annual juried youth media arts exhibition on May 3, 2025 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at The Wonder Lab, a media arts hub in San Diego’s East Village.
