  • Created in 2011, Euphoria Brass Band is an award winning, critically acclaimed seven piece San Diego based musical powerhouse. Euphoria offers an exciting mix of New Orleans infused brass band jazz, funky street beats and new school edginess with a West Coast vibe! A SoCal favorite playing many high profile music venues, festivals, parades, corporate events and weddings, Euphoria performs internationally as well. They have played several festivals in Mexico and recently performed in Japan at the 30th Annual 2022 Yokohama Jazz Promenade Festival. With a new project in the works and four recordings to date, Euphoria Brass Band has received 11 San Diego Music Award nominations since 2011. In 2019 and 2020 Euphoria received the San Diego Music Award for “Best Jazz”. In addition, in 2019 the band won CityBeat Magazine’s “ San Diego’s Best Band” award.   • Sundays, September 7 & 14, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Steam bending wood is an efficient and environmentally-friendly process that has been used for hundreds of years in the construction of chairs, boats, tools, and countless other wooden objects. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamental process of steam bending wood, from wood selection and preparation, to the actual bending and drying process. Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises, students will each make their own steam-bent flower vase to take home. Materials are included. Students are asked to wear/bring long-sleeved clothing and a pair of thermal or heavy gloves. These are the instructor’s favorite gloves. Ages 18 and up. No experience necessary.   • Learn to needle felt! Sunday, September 7, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Experience the magic of wool and learn how to paint using needle felting techniques! In this 3-hour workshop, we will create a marine landscape by layering and felting wool, as well as blending colors together. The addition of yarns will add texture and hues to your creation. Ocean and sunset make wonderful subjects for needle paintings! This class requires the use of sharp needles and you will be provided with fingers guards. No experience necessary. Ages 12+ welcome.
