  • We’ll see you this year on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023! Ride the bridge, Bike the Bay for the 16th annual ride on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023! Cruise around San Diego Bay and enjoy your only opportunity to ride across the San Diego Coronado Bay Bridge. This non-competitive community bike ride is for riders of all abilities and will take you on a scenic, and primarily flat ride, around the San Diego Bay via the Bayshore Bikeway. Along the way, riders will travel through the surrounding cities of Coronado, Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, and National City before finishing back at the start/finish line at Embarcadero Marina Park in downtown San Diego. Not only will the scenic 25-mile route travel through all five of these very diverse communities but it will also allow riders their only opportunity of the year to ride over the beautiful Coronado Bay Bridge. All riders will return to San Diego for a post-ride festival with food, beverage, beer garden, and entertainment. The Bike the Bay ride is a fun and non-competitive ride for cyclists of all abilities. We encourage the “go slow and say hello” model. The safety of all riders is our highest priority. Please observe the following rules/restrictions so everyone can enjoy a fun and safe ride: Helmets are mandatory for all riders Riders must be over the age of 10 years old to participate Riders should use bike lanes when available and safe, and ride as close to the right-hand side of the road as practicable. Riders must obey all rules of the road, traffic signals, crossing signals, and stop signs at all times. Watch downhill speeds and stay in control at all times. Unfortunately, due to the significant time and cost of planning this amazing event, we are not able to offer refunds. The bridge will close at the conclusion of the 8 a.m start wave.
