A McDonald's franchisee operating four restaurants in the San Diego area has reached a settlement with the Department of Justice resolving allegations the franchisee's company discriminated against non-U.S. citizens when asking for their documentation to work in the United States, it was announced Tuesday.

One person was found dead while another was pulled from the ocean water today at Border Field State Park.

UCSD says more than 1 million American youths between the ages of 14 and 17 years old became daily tobacco users within two years of 2017. By 2019, more than three quarters of that group were vaping daily.

The work will make way for a new Terminal 1 Parking Plaza anticipated to open late 2024, as well as a new on-airport roadway that will divert westbound traffic from Harbor Drive onto the airport property.

The rate increases include withdrawals from the authority's Rate Stabilization Fund — created in 1990 to help avoid rate spikes, especially those driven by reduced water sales.

The latest in-custody death comes on the heels of news that a sheriff’s deputy was arrested for allegedly having illegal drugs on county jail property.

Officials with the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a statement in response to Southwest's cancellations, noting that the department will be looking into the situation.
