A divided San Diego County Board of Supervisors has voted to adopt what is believed to be a first-in-the-nation policy of declaring COVID-19 misinformation a public health crisis and adopt a series of recommendations to actively combat it.

Robert Gorsuch, 54, admitted in San Diego federal court that he gave Leonard Glenn "Fat Leonard" Francis privileged information, including multiple classified ship schedules, in exchange for stays at fancy hotels, meals, entertainment and other gifts.

San Diego County public health officials reported 1,369 new COVID-19 infections, eight hospitalizations and three deaths Tuesday.

These figures were announced during an update Tuesday on the results of the Innovative Trust Fund, established by the county in 2017.

A nonprofit free speech organization said Tuesday that it has asked the California Supreme Court to take up the case brought by a coalition of San Diego-area news organizations seeking county data regarding COVID-19 outbreaks in the community.
