Just north of downtown San Diego and west of Balboa Park are two historic footbridges spanning San Diego’s past and future.

Quince Street trestle footbridge:
Built in 1905, the Quince Street wooden plank trestle footbridge spanning Maple Canyon between Third and Fourth Avenues, was rebuilt in 1990. A few blocks away, the Spruce Street suspension bridge built in 1912, is the only bridge of its kind in San Diego.

Spruce Street suspension bridge:
Suspended by two steel cables 70 feet above Kate Sessions canyon, the treetop walk across the swaying Spruce Street Suspension bridge can be an adventure for the whole family.
