Quince Street trestle footbridge:
Built in 1905, the
Quince Street wooden plank trestle footbridge
spanning Maple Canyon between Third and Fourth Avenues, was rebuilt in 1990. A few blocks away, the Spruce Street suspension bridge built in 1912, is the only bridge of its kind in San Diego.

Built to provide access across the deep canyons to the newly built street car lines on Fourth and Fifth Avenues, these pedestrian bridges have been restored and are now part of a walking trail through the Bankers Hill neighborhood, filled with 19th century architectural gems.
