In November, voters will decide on Proposition 89, a measure to create election funding reform through the public financing of campaigns. If passed, Prop. 89 would apply to candidates running for state offices and ballot measures too.
A “yes” vote on 89 would approve allowing eligible candidates for state office to receive public campaign financing supported by new taxes on banks and corporations. Candidate participation would be voluntary. Guest host Elsa Sevilla speaks to advocates on both sides of the measure.
