S.D. Democrats React to California Primary Results
I'm at the Eagles Lodge in Hillcrest where San Diego Democrats have gathered to watch election results. Less than two hours after polls closed in California, people here got a good idea of how their state voted. The announcement of a strong Hillary Clinton lead sent many Barack Obama supporters out the door -- taking their Obama signs with them.
Clinton supporters lingered and began to celebrate as polls suggested Clinton as the front runner in California.
Democratic party officials say the night was more about closing the gap between Democrat and Republicans in San Diego County. They say they gained 17,000 new registered Democrats so far this year.
