Evacuation Orders Lifted, Julian Brush Fire's Spread Stopped

Cal Fire lifted all evacuation orders in an area near Julian where a brush fire broke out Friday afternoon.

Highway 78 has been re-opened, Cal Fire officials said. But firefighters will remain on scene of the Wynola Fire Friday night and most of Saturday to gain full containment and control of the fire.

Cal Fire crews first responded to the brush fire in the community of Wynola, near Julian, just after 1:15 p.m. Friday.

The fire broke out on Wynola Road and Farmers Road, according to Cal Fire officials. The blaze happened at the scene of a motorcycle accident, officials said.

Wynola and Farmers roads were closed due to the fire, and the San Diego County Sheriff's Department evacuated 25 structures near Highway 78 and Wynola Road, Cal Fire officials said.
