A 1929 vintage biplane made an emergency landing Tuesday morning at the Torrey Pines Golf Course, KPBS media partner 10News reports.

The report was called in just after 11:40 a.m., dispatchers said. The Travel Air 4000 was experiencing mechanical problems, forcing it to land on the course at 11480 Torrey Pines Park Road, authorities said.

Dispatchers said the plane landed safely on the fourth hole of the course about 10 minutes later.

"None of the three people on board was injured, and there was no damage to the aircraft,'' FAA spokesman Ian Gregor told City News Service.

The plane is owned by Daniels Aviation Inc., which is based at Montgomery Field airport in Serra Mesa, according to registration records.

Torrey Pines Golf Course hosted the U.S. Open Championship in 2008. In March it was announced the course will host the U.S. Open again in 2021.
