Shots have been fired at a military recruitment center on Lee Highway in Chattanooga. Television images showed the military center's windows riddled with bullet holes.
Police tweeted that the active shooter situation was over, but they did not immediately offer more details.
Separately, the U.S. Navy tweeted that there had been a shooting at a building on Amnicola Highway.
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke tweeted: "Horrific incident in our community. We will release details as they are confirmed. Prayers to all those affected"
