San Diegans React To Kamala Harris On The Presidential Ticket

On Midday Edition Wednesday, we hear from two Black female leaders — Asm. Shirley Weber (D-San Diego) and former district attorney candidate Geneviéve Jones-Wright — about the growing political power of Black women in the Democratic party.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden ended weeks of speculation when he announced Tuesday that Senator Kamala Harris of California would join him on the 2020 ticket.

While many have said a Biden-Harris ticket was a safe choice, Harris is the first Black and South Asian woman on major party presidential ticket.
