Experts On Disaster Prep Discuss Latest On Haiti Earthquake Response
What's the latest on the relief efforts going on in Haiti? We speak to a representative from a relief organization that is providing aid, and to a local expert on emergency preparedness who has worked in Haiti.

Maureen Cavanaugh: For days it has seemed that each story coming out of earthquake devastated Port au Prince was worse than the last. The quake that struck Haiti almost a week ago has claimed tens of thousands, perhaps up to 200,000 lives and caused more massive suffering and chaos than most of us can imagine. But it's in the individual stories of children lying next to dead parents or survivors scrounging for food that we make the deepest connection with the pain of the Haitian people.

Now, at last, we're hearing that supplies from relief organizations are finally reaching some of the quake victims in Haiti. We're pleased to talk with some San Diegans who are involved in the aid effort.
