SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped below $4 for the first time since May 10 today, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.987.
The average price has decreased 15 times in 17 days and is 4.2 cents less than one week ago and 26.5 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
However, the average price is 10.5 cents higher than one month ago, partially because of a 12-day streak of increases immediately before the dropping prices began.
The average price has fallen 8 cents over the past 17 days, including 1 cent Friday.
