Applying for Medi-Cal services and food assistance can now be done in one place in the South Bay.
The county's South Region Live Well Center opened for business in National City Tuesday.
The 84,000-square-foot facility has a host of county services under one roof, including child support services, aging and independence services and a military and veterans resource center.
County Supervisor Greg Cox said the facility should have a big impact in the South Bay.
"It will help us achieve our goals by giving South County residents a one-stop shop to be connected to world of services," he said.
The center features a spacious seating area with easy access to the reception windows and interview rooms.
"We designed this building with our customers in mind," Cox said.
The county also operates a Live Well Center in Escondido, which opened in 2015.
