SANDAG Vice Chair On Future Of Transportation In San Diego County

The San Diego Association of Governments, or SANDAG, is currently in the process of updating its regional transportation plan to bring it in line with state targets for reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Encinitas Mayor Catherine Blakespear, vice chair of SANDAG, joins Midday Edition to discuss the development of the plan.

One of the biggest challenges facing San Diego County's politicians in the next few years will be agreeing on a plan for the future of transportation in the region.

Political leaders from the 18 cities in the county sit on the board of the San Diego Association of Governments or SANDAG. The organization is responsible for transportation planning in the region and is currently in the process of updating its regional transportation plan to bring it in line with state targets for reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

Catherine Blakespear, the mayor of Encinitas, is the vice chair of SANDAG. She joined Midday Edition on Wednesday to discuss the development of the plan.
