Mayor Faulconer To Announce San Diego's Reopening Plan Tuesday
San Diego beaches are now partially opened and the local economy may soon follow.
Mayor Kevin Faulconer told KPBS Midday Edition on Monday he plans to announce Tuesday the policies and procedures to safely reopen businesses since the global coronavirus pandemic forced their closure.
"If San Diegans can do the right thing, we are going to be ready to open once we hit the public health milestones and the stay at home order is lifted," he said.
On Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom also announced some businesses may start reopening with modifications. The governor said some retailers may reopen for curbside pick up as soon as Friday.
Faulconer joined Midday to discuss how the pandemic has affected San Diego and how the city is responding.
