Dogs have become an immeasurably valuable resource for the U.S. armed forces - as have robots. Now the two military helpers have merged to become one, thanks to the folks at Boston Dynamics. They've created a new robot called "AlphaDog," which helps troops in battle by carrying up to 400 pounds of equipment over rough terrain without the need for refueling, or even someone to drive it!
Boston Dynamics recently unveiled its latest dog-robot prototype to the public, according to Physorg.com. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Marine Corps helped fund Boston Dynamics development of "AlphaDog."
