Active-duty service members will soon be moving through airport security much more quickly - even if they aren't in uniform. TSA PreCheck, which allows expedited screening for military personnel, goes into effect at Reagan National Airport this month, according to CNN. If it works out there, TSA will expand PreCheck throughout the country.
Transportation Security Administration administrator John Pistole announced yesterday:
Service members will need to show their Common Access Card to use TSA PreCheck.
According to the TSA PreCheck website, member of the military taking advantage of the expedited screening won't have to take off their shoes, remove laptops from bags or those 3-1-1 bags from luggage, and can keep their belts and jackets on.
Pistole said TSA hopes to expand the PreCheck program to the country's busiest airports by year's end.
