Marine Lance Cpl. Emily Hammonds is recovering at Scripps Mercy Hospital after a fellow Marine stabbed her multiple times Saturday morning during an altercation at Camp Pendleton, according to City New Service.
WAVY-TV reports Hammonds is originally from Virginia Beach, Va.
Hammonds' Facebook page says she is a 2012 graduate of Hermitage High School in Richmond, Va.
An investigator with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service told the Los Angeles Times that the suspect in the case is believed to be a Marine corporal.
Both Hammonds and her alleged attacker are assigned to the 1st Marine Logistics Group.
