FDA Shifts on Morning-After Pill Prescription

The Food and Drug Administration is once again considering whether to make an emergency contraception pill available without a prescription. The announcement came a day before a Capitol Hill hearing on the nomination of Andrew von Eschenbach to be the FDA commissioner. Two senators have put a hold on the nomination pending resolution of the emergency contraception controversy.
