Diana Gonzalez's parents say the DA's office refuses to answer questions they have about the investigation and why charges weren't filed earlier against the estranged husband now accused of murdering their daughter.

Family and friends of a slain San Diego City College student plan to stage a protest march today aimed at encouraging the district attorney's office to answer questions about the Diana Gonzalez murder case.

It's been almost two months since Gonzalez was found murdered in a San Diego City College bathroom. Her estranged husband has been charged with the murder but remains a fugitive.

Her family says they've repeatedly asked the DA's office why the husband was not charged weeks earlier when Gonzalez had reported that he had kidnapped and choked her.

They've also asked about the status of the DA's murder investigation. But they say so far, no answers have been forthcoming. City College instructor Larissa Dorman says hopefully today's march will force a response from the DA's office.

"We want to apply public pressure so that way the DA is aware of the fact that the community is still very much concerned about getting justice for Diana and holding the DA's office accountable," Dorman said.

A DA spokesman declined comment citing the ongoing investigation.
