The city of San Diego has paid $50,000 to a woman who says she was molested by a police officer when she was a teenager in the mid-1990s.
U-T San Diego reported Thursday that the woman is the 14th victim of former police Officer Anthony Arevalos.
He was convicted in 2011 for eliciting sexual favors from women and is serving an eight-year prison sentence.
Records show the city agreed to settle the woman's claim on Sept. 12, one week after she formally filed a claim for damages, according to the U-T.
She said that she was stopped by Arevalos in 1996 or 1997, when she would have been 14 or 15. She said that he had her show him her breasts and touched her.
Previous claims against the city were settled for more than $8 million. The city shelled out over $4 million while the remainder was covered by the city's insurance carriers.
