A fundraiser for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump scheduled next month in Rancho Santa Fe will cost attendees between $28,000 and $449,400 per person, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
The event, co-hosted by developer Doug Manchester and diet guru Jenny Craig, among others, is set for July 13 at an undisclosed location, the newspaper reported.
Other hosts include Madeleine Pickens, ex-wife of Texas billionaire T. Boone Pickens, energy investor Doug Kimmelman and computer tycoon Darwin Deason.
In campaign finance reports last month, Trump had pulled in around $3 million in May, compared to the $26 million donated to likely Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton. Trump's primary campaign was largely self-funded, but GOP leaders are pushing him to raise more money.
Clinton was holding two fundraisers in the Los Angeles area Tuesday, one costing $2,700 per person at the home of Napster co-founder and former Facebook president Sean Parker and his wife Alexandra.
A reception and dinner at the home of investor and philanthropist Marc Nathanson, founder of Falcon Cable, carried prices ranging from $33,400 per couple to $100,000 per couple, according to an invitation obtained by City News Service.
The $2,700 amount is the maximum individual contribution under federal law for a candidate seeking his or her party's presidential nomination or for the general election. Some events can charge more if the haul is shared with other organizations.
Part of the proceeds from the Trump event will go to the Republican National Committee, according to the newspaper. The Nathanson event for Clinton will also collect money for the Democratic National Committee and various state Democratic parties.
