Body Found In Strip Mall

The body of an apparent homicide victim turned up early today in a parking lot near Sweetwater County Park.

A passer-by found the body in a pool of blood at a strip mall in the 5000 block of Bonita Road shortly after 4 a.m., sheriff's Lt. Dennis Brugos said.

The unidentified victim, who appeared to be a Latino in his 30s or early 40s, had suffered some type of severe and suspicious head wound, the lieutenant said. The body was lying next to a tan car.
