Part of the west end of San Diego State University was hit with a power outage Monday at approximately 11:40 a.m.
SDSU police say a "transformer exploded" in Parking Structure 4.
Buildings that lost power included KPBS, SDSU Research Foundation, SDSU Health Services and nearby facilities and parking structures, according to SDSU police.
When the lights went out, social media lit up.
"Power went out during our staff meeting," Tweeted amyjeanchecho. "Now we are all sitting around in the dark. Productive work day."
"Power out at the theatre at #SDSU - so I guess I have more free time now," Dhassing Tweeted.
