  • San Diego is known for its excellent golf courses and in January it’s all eyes on the Farmers Insurance Open. One Paseo is getting into the swing of things, pun intended, with a fun pop up 18-hole miniature golf course set up on The Lawn behind Harland on January 28 and 29 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Whether you are a Rory fan or a Tiger devotee, One Paseo’s putt putt is the place to be during San Diego’s hottest golf weekend. The event will feature an 18-hole putt-putt course, a chipping game and a DJ to keep the energy lively. The Master Composter course provides training in the art and science of composting through lectures, demonstrations, and a field trip. Master Composter certification requires attendance at all five classes, as well as 30 volunteer hours of related community service. This class will meet Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult. The purpose of the Beloved Community Teach-In is to educate people of all ages about Dr. and Mrs. King’s legacy and how to champion completion of their unfinished work. The theme for the 2023 King Holiday Observance is “It Starts with Me: Cultivating a Beloved Community Mindset to Transform Unjust Systems.” In keeping with the theme, PK-12 lesson plans for the 2023 Teach-In will reinforce the knowledge, skills and dispositions students need to not only to be positive contributors to creation of the “Beloved Community” but also to succeed in their respective life paths.
