Native Americans are returning to raising buffalo and plants that tribes have grown for millennia. It's a way to reconnect with historic traditions, and to bring healthy eating to their communities.

Hop on over to the San Diego Animal Sanctuary & Farm (formerly called the Children’s Nature Retreat), a 20-acre farm in Alpine, to celebrate Easter with the animals and participate in one of four Easter Egg Hunts. The annual egg hunts are a tradition at the Farm and this year, there will be one hunt per day from Thursday, April 6 through Sunday, April 9. The Easter Egg Hunts will begin at 11 a.m. each day. Tickets are $12, plus admission per child; the price includes one Easter basket and a total of up to 12 eggs. More than 4,000 eggs will be filled with plush animals, toys, and candy, spread out across the 20-acre farm. The Farm’s sweet bunnies will be there too in their brand-new location. Lastly, the Easter Bunny will be there every day at 11 a.m. for pictures and cuddles!

The House of Music presents their annual festival fundraiser on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at NTC Park Liberty Station. The first fundraising event for the organization in 2023 is Festival del Caribe. This festival is a first for San Diego bringing Puerto Rico and Cuba together through music and dance. The featured artists are Grammy Award winners, direct from Cuba, internationally acclaimed Los Van Van. The festival will also feature Tipica 73 celebrating their 50th anniversary with legendary founding member John “Dandy” Rodriguez along with: Pete Nater, Nelson Gonzalez, Tony Rosa, Jimmy Bosch, and Jimmy Delgado just to name a few of the legendary members. La Verdad from Los Angeles will open the show with their high energy sound and music. Direct from Miami, globally recognized, DJ Melao and San Diego’s own DJ Ukeim spinning Cuban and Puerto Rican salsa. The Emcees for the festival are Elizabeth Alvarez from Fox5 San Diego and NY Radio Host, Jose Calderon of WFDU “Que Viva La Musica”. The VIP section is $100.00 and General Admission is $75.00.
