We invite you to In The Bag's first installment of SYNERGY, designed for our community to gather outside of a club and in an environment where we aim to balance our physical and spiritual bodies. Hosted in partnership with wellness-focused non-profit Namastay Sober, SYNERGY 1.0 will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5 at Quartyard (1301 Market Street, San Diego). A leader in the conscious arts, Megan Kenson will guide the event from start to finish, including a cacao ceremony, meditation and a gentle vinyasa flow suitable for all levels. There will also be a variety of local vendors and light music. SYNERGY 1.0 kicks off Namastay Sober’s Sobruary Challenge, a month-long community experience to reconnect with yourself and get out of your comfort zone. The challenge encourages refraining from alcohol and drugs, or another habit that disconnects you like doom scrolling or bingeing tv, for the month of February to show solidarity for those navigating recovery. Namastay Sober believes that “through connection, we can overcome addiction together.” Join Namastay Sober’s month of mindfulness to sustain consistent daily conscious healthy living here! A portion of proceeds from SYNERGY 1.0 will be donated to Namastay Sober to support people in recovery through yoga and fitness studio scholarships, free community classes and wellness-focused sober events. Former child prodigy pianist Rossina Grieco will perform a special concert comprising J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 2 in C minor, BWV 826, Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 13 in B-flat major, K. 333, Chopin’s 24 Preludes, Op. 28, and a Mephisto Waltz by Liszt. Grieco has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas performing in venues such as Lincoln Center, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and Sherwood Hall, working alongside artists such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Richard Goode, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Yu Long, Dame Fanny Waterman, Gary Graffman, Eleanor Sokoloff, Fu Cong, and more. She has won many awards, including the Ihnatowycz Prize in Piano. Born and raised in La Jolla, she made her solo piano debut with the San Diego Symphony to a sold-out Copley Symphony Hall at age 8, in 2003. She most recently performed in Koerner Hall of the Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School in Toronto. Concertgoers can choose to purchase a ticket that includes an after-concert dinner with Grieco. Featuring the San Luis Rey Chorale & the Chamber Orchestra: Enjoy your favorite Christmas Carols in the beautiful historic church with over 60 voices of the San Luis Rey Chorale accompanied by a Chamber Orchestra. Friday, December 2 at 7 p.m. Seats range from $40-$60 per ticket. Dessert Reception follows in the Sacred Garden decorated with thousands of Christmas Lights. The Super Dentists have invited good ol’ St. Nick to visit each of their offices this holiday season. Parents can take photos of the kids meeting with Santa and sharing their wish-list with him – it’s a free, fun experience at any of their offices in Escondido, Oceanside, Carmel Valley, Kearny Mesa, Chula Vista, and Eastlake. Santa photos are FREE and open to the public; families do not have to be current patients of The Super Dentists if they want to come say ‘hi’ and take a photo with Santa!
