Award-winning rockers Paramore have announced a monumental North American tour in 2023 supporting their next album "This Is Why". The 27-city journey kicks off May 23 in Charlotte and runs into August visiting most major markets including Atlanta, New York, Washington DC, Detroit, Toronto, Orlando, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. Joining the tour on select dates will be special guests Bloc Party, Foals, The Linda Lindas and Genesis Owusu. New Zealand rockers Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be touring extensively across North America in early 2023 to support their upcoming double album. Chase Morrin and the trio will perform jazz standards featuring music by some of the most renowned historical piano icons like Bud Powell, Thelonius Monk and Hank Jones, as well as original compositions. They will show their own modern take on the tradition, finding new spaces for the future but honoring the past. Chase Morrin is a prolific pianist and composer, having released four original albums which were all multi-cultural collaborations, and written for ensembles like the Louisville Orchestra and the self-created Music Alliance ensemble at Yellow Barn. He is currently a professor at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and New England Conservatory Preparatory School and has received eleven Downbeat awards, four ASCAP Jazz composer awards, and was nominated for a National Korean Award for his album, Gapi. In addition to finding innovative approaches to musical collaboration, Chase is dedicated to advocating for social change through music and creating more equitable spaces in music communities. We may have been hearing about the tech changes coming our way, from social media lawsuits to the implications for chatbots like ChatGPT. In these wild and wacky times, the Unplug Collaborative encourages people to still make time to chat with REAL people, IN person, and in REAL time. America’s Finest City is becoming America’s best city to unplug as we join the 14th annual Global (formerly National) Day of Unplugging with many fun activities happening around town from March 3-4. Wild creatures will be hiding out in restaurants, businesses and scavenger hunts from La Mesa to Julian. San Diegans can try to spot the furry creatures in La Mesa and at various other locations (Mom's Pies and Fort Cross in Wynola, Regulars Wanted in Julian, Rancho Guejito vineyard in Escondido). They can take a nature hike at Dictionary Hill in Spring Valley or San Dieguito County Park, take a mandala rock painting class in Coronado or step into a sound bath for deep relaxation in Crown Point.
