Practice yoga in the spacious Lander Hall in Kensington. With over 20 years of teaching experience, yoga instructor Sünje O’Clancy encourages students of all levels to improve overall strength, flexibility, and balance. She guides participants through thoughtfully designed hatha yoga sequences that include a variety of poses, breathing techniques, and a final relaxation. "Yoga is the path of self-discovery, and my hope is that our practice time together will help students to find their way home to the place of peaceful stillness, and ultimately happiness, that lays within themselves." Detailed and spontaneous brush painting styles, depicting both traditional and contemporary subjects, will be on display - highlighting the diversity and breadth of techniques used by modern brush artists. Our artists range from students to accomplished painters and calligraphers, many who have studied with masters in China. Comic-Con badge holders: The 19th San Diego International Children's Film Festival opens Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Comic-Con International, with a full day of short films from around the world, and filmmaker and animator appearances. No Comic-Con badge needed: The festival continues all day Saturday, July 29 at the beautiful Neil Morgan Auditorium at the San Diego Central Library downtown, with more short films from around the world - animation, live action and documentary, clustered for different age groups, toddlers through teens. The all-breed animal rescue organization focuses on pulling dogs from shelters when they are at risk of being euthanized, as well as abandoned, abused, and stray dogs in both the U.S. and Tijuana/Rosarito areas. PAWS4Thought’s primary goal is to rescue and rehabilitate these dogs in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent “fur-ever” homes. We're ready for a spooktacular crafty pARty in Coronado! This is an interactive 3-hour workshop and is $89 per guest. This event will start with a DIY workshop to make an entertaining staple: your choice of one 12" Round Pedestal Tray, 12" Round Wood Tray, or a 6x16 Mini Wood Tray. Customize your Lazy Susan or Pedestal Tray with your choice of (non-toxic!) stain and designer paint colors. Then you will have a cookie decorating lesson from Jennifer of Rx: cookies. Learn techniques, tips, and tricks from our local cookie artist. Take home your DIY project, 6 decorated cookies, and some sweet knowledge on this tasty skill!
