Apt 4 Music is partnering up with Songbirds Music to present ARTS DISTRICT's very own International Make Music Day! It will be a day of music interaction, workshops, performers and bands! Family friendly, all ages, free and FUN! Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public. Kick off day-long festival activities with two free music and movement class demos led by the enthusiastic and admired teachers of Songbirds Music! Our two demos begin at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Bring your little ones and join in on an environment where families can sing, dance, play, and learn through the power of music! Stick around after the demos to learn more about Songbirds Music programs and enjoy the rest of the events of the festival! King Bach, is a Canadian-American internet personality, actor, and content creator who was the most followed user on the now-defunct video sharing service Vine with 11.3 million followers. He took the title of most-followed person on Vine in March 2015. Though best known for Vine, Bachelor is also known for his YouTube channel, BachelorsPadTv. The channel and its videos have been covered by several online publications, including FSU News. Bachelor has stated that he turned down most requests to upload sponsored Vines. Bachelor's Vine stardom led to him signing with UTA, and landing a recurring role in "House of Lies." In addition, he at one point was a recurring cast member on "Wild 'n Out" on MTV2. He was also a series regular on the Adult Swim series "Black Jesus," and had a recurring role on "The Mindy Project." Bachelor also had a role in the spoof comedy film "Fifty Shades of Black," and was a special guest host for the revived version of "Punk'd" on BET. He appeared as a fictional version of himself in the 2015 film "We Are Your Friends." Bachelor was introduced to Vine by Brittany Furlan, before uploading his first Vine video on April 19, 2013. ArtWalk @ Liberty Station returns for its 17th year to ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7. Attendees can peruse through the garden browsing artwork from more than 150 artists and enjoying food, wine and beer, and live entertainment at the two-day, free event in San Diego’s largest Arts & Cultural District. ArtWalk @ Liberty Station will take place in the heart of Liberty Station at Ingram Plaza among 100,000 square feet of park-like space, with its towering American Flag surrounded by a rose garden and large spaces of grass and trees. Locals and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase artwork from local, national, and international artists in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, glasswork, fine jewelry, photography, and more. In addition to the artwork, guests will also be able to enjoy live entertainment from local bands and musicians, along with a beer and wine pavilion, as well as sweet and savory bites from a variety of eateries. Plus, the ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station venue also gives attendees an opportunity to visit a wide array of galleries and working artist studios. In addition, ArtWalk @ Liberty Station will also feature a Charity Art Fundraiser benefiting ArtReach San Diego, a nonprofit organization aimed at increasing equity in visual arts education in K-12 schools throughout San Diego County by delivering workshops to schools that have no other resources for art. Over 100 pairs of Vans shoes donated by Vans Fashion Valley will be designed by visual artists and sold online and in-person at ArtWalk on August 6 and 7.
