Malibu Barbie Cafe
The Malibu Barbie Café is making its way to town during San Diego Comic-Con 2025 July 23 - 27 - Check availability Fans can step into a 1970s Malibu daydream with a retro-glam vibe. The café will be decked out in bright colors, laid-back beach motifs, and plenty of iconic photo ops, including a life-size Barbie Box. Each 90-minute reservation includes seated dining and access to the Barbie x Impala Skate Rink, where you can skate for just $1 — with proceeds going to the American Red Cross. Created by Mattel and Bucket Listers, the Malibu Barbie Café will feature a delicious menu crafted by Master Chef finalist Becky Brown, offering twists on California classics alongside sweet treats and themed drinks. You can also shop exclusive merch and pose your heart out in the Barbie-fied setting. Tickets start at $25.15 and are available now, which includes a 90-minute experience, $10 food credit, and $5 merch credit. The Camarada Tango Quartet brings a fresh and compelling take on Argentina’s most iconic art form. This powerhouse performance features The Camarada Tango Quartet with guest virtuoso Pablo Jaurena (bandoneon) and world-class tango dancers Carolina Jaurena and Andrés Bravo. The program journeys through legendary tango masters—Piazzolla, Troilo, Pugliese, Matos, d’Arienzo, and de Caro—bringing their timeless works to life with flair and precision. Hosted by the California Center for the Arts, Escondido Foundation, "Artful Start" is part of our Arts for All programming. We believe the arts have the power to connect, uplift, and inspire people of all ages. By providing accessible, engaging experiences, we hope to welcome more students into the creative world and support their potential as they head into the new school year. Event Highlights: - Free Art-Filled Backpacks Every student will receive a bag filled with quality art supplies, a Passion Planner, and an art book inspired by the Center’s murals. - Complimentary Haircuts Students can start the year fresh with a free haircut—because creativity comes in all forms, including personal style. - Community Art Lab Participate in hands-on art projects and take home your own masterpiece! Kuspa’s newly commissioned chamber work—celebrating the rich biodiversity of San Diego County—adds a vibrant and local voice to the mix. From the rhythmic pulse of guitar and cajón in "Tempestad" to the shimmering interplay of flute and marimba in "Azul," each piece explores the delicate balance between structure and freedom — between creativity and madness.
