Wayne Wilkinson is a headliner jazz guitarist who performs and tours across the country and internationally. For over four decades, Wayne has shared the stage with iconic jazz musicians, world-class performers and a President of the United States. An artist with Benedetto guitars, GHS Strings, and Jim Dunlop picks, Wilkinson is known for his high-octane melodic playing which world-renowned jazz trombonist Bill Watrous noted “is the greatest guitar playing I’ve ever heard.” Colin McAllister is Director of Humanities at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. His performances as a guitarist and conductor have been hailed as ‘sparkling…delivered superbly’ (San Francisco Chronicle), ‘ravishing’ (San Diego Union Tribune) and ‘an amazing tour de force’ (San Diego Story), and he has recorded on the MicroFest, Summit, Innova, Centaur, Naxos, Albany, Old King Cole, Vienna Modern Masters, Carrier, and Tzadik labels. City and county leaders Monday thanked San Diegans for taking precautions and staying at home during Tropical Storm Hilary as crews continue to assess damages caused by the storm.

Through this eight-session workshop series, explore artworks currently on display from MCASD’s collection under the themes of personal history, identity and storytelling. Reflections was designed to serve adults 55 and older. The conversations around the artworks in MCASD’s collection will offer stimulating input and prompts for participants as they think about creating their own artworks. The hands-on workshop will provide a forum for self-expression and developing new interpersonal connections. Refreshments and time for social interaction will take place in Museum venues that take full advantage of the beautiful oceanside location and views. Transportation will be provided, if required. This session runs every Friday from May 12 – June 30.

Cardiff Farmer's Market is excited to announce a San Elijo Lagoon Clean Up in collaboration with community cleanup organization We Clean Trails. Taking place on Saturday, February 3rd at 10 a.m., the special event will bring together environmental enthusiasts to preserve the ecological health of the San Elijo Lagoon by removing trash from our footpaths and roadways. Participants will gather at the Cardiff 101 Information booth at 10 a.m. for a safety briefing before starting a cleanup loop around Manchester Avenue and the San Elijo Lagoon. To show their appreciation for this project, each volunteer will receive a complimentary gluten-free protein bar from Island Girl Bakes, an 8oz cup of “Six Summit Blend” coffee from TrailBlend Coffee, and a Cardiff Farmer’s Market tote bag to encourage sustainable shopping.
