Najor made his producing debut with the indie feature "I Am Not a Hipster," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and earned him a nomination for the Producers Award. He later directed and produced the short documentary "American Baghdad," which premiered at AFI Docs in 2016. Expanding into episodic storytelling, Najor co-wrote, directed, and produced the indie pilots "The Dream" and "Pretend Partners," which were official selections at SXSW in 2020 and 2021. "Pretend Partners" received a Special Jury Recognition for Best Duo at SXSW. Najor’s feature, "Adjunct," which he wrote, directed, and produced, premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2024. Most recently, he produced the feature film "Lucky Lu," starring internationally acclaimed actor Chang Chen, which premiered at Directors' Fortnight at Cannes in 2025. The Vista Buddhist Temple's Obon Festival will include discussions on Buddhism, homestyle Japanese foods, performances (taiko drumming, judo, hands-on koto, and sumi-e demonstrations), and a marketplace of local produce, plants, and crafts. Parking and admission are free. Obon is also known for Bon Odori folk dancing, a celebration and expression of gratitude for those who are no longer with us. These three have been engaged on air pollution issues across the state for a few years now. Charles and Anthony with the support of Professor Gregg Macey are working with the San Diego Air Pollution Control District and environmental justice champions to combat air pollution in the county. They are jointly working to begin the electrification of "indirect sources" of warehouse operations through expediting the transition to clean fleets, looking to combat pollution coming from operation equipment, and lowering emissions in the largest warehouse polluters. Through Climate Action Plans, Charles and Anthony are looking to hold local municipalities accountable to reducing their emissions and making sound climate actions. There will be time for questions from the audience.
