  • On Monday, January 22, Mavericks Beach Club will be hosting their annual Puppies & Golf Farmers Insurance Open Kick-Off Block Party from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.! In support of Puppies & Golf Charity, the PB beach bar will be transforming into a 6-hole putting course for guests to “take a swing”, as well as enjoy raffles and silent auctions, including Farmers Insurance Open tickets. Mavericks will also have adoptable dogs from Labs and More Rescue, dog bars, a Java Earth Coffee Bar, specialty cocktails created with Titos Vodka and Elijah Craig, permanent jewelry, and much more. Puppies & Golf, founded in 2020, was created to protect and advocate for dogs in need while helping people understand and take advantage of the healing and health benefits of having a dog in their life. Puppies & Golf is not only a community resource, but also provides grants to families, shelters, and rescues, and assists military veterans through organizations that rescue dogs and train them to become service animals. Puppies & Golf is passionate about providing people with the healing and emotional benefits that a dog provides, especially a rescue dog. Our tagline is “Together for a better beginning,” reflecting the importance of this family connection in the critical early weeks and months of an infant’s life and its linkage to improved health outcomes. Transportation issues, including the increasing cost of gas, hospital parking fees, or medically unable to drive are significant barriers that many families in San Diego County, Los Angeles, and Orange County must overcome to be with their babies.
