  • A water bill assistance sign-up event is taking place on Saturday, November 4 to help low-income San Diegans get financial support with their water and sewer bills. The event is free to attend, with no RSVP required, and walk-ups are welcomed: Water Bill Assistance Sign-Up Event Location: Campesinos Unidos, Inc. | 885 Gateway Center Way, Space 103, San Diego, CA 92012 Time: Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Hosted by the City of San Diego & Campesinos Unidos, Inc. The event will be co-hosted by the City of San Diego and Campesinos Unidos, inc., and will help low-income families apply for up to $15,000 to pay their water or sewer bills through a federal program called Low Income Housing Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). Attendees must bring their current water bill, proof of household income for the past four weeks, a copy of a government-issued photo ID, proof of non-cash benefits, state, and federal help (SNAP, EBT, IHSS, SSI, SSDI) in order to apply. Those who can’t attend the event can still apply for the program by visiting www.campesinosunidos.org/water-program/ or calling (619) 391-9790.
