Telling the story of a migrant family, the show from London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre features a mix of dance styles.

  • Kids home for summer break can now take a spin on the historic Balboa Park Carousel every day of the week, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The extended hours are in effect until school is back in session on August 26. This year marks the 100th anniversary of San Diego’s most famous carousel, which still runs on its original GE motor and whose original animal menagerie, painted décor, military band organ, and brass ring game were recently restored. The pieces aim to capture the essence of the local wildlife and landscapes that make our region unique. Deeply influenced by Matisse and Monet, Natasha loves bright colors and expresses joie de vivre in all her pieces. Natasha’s work is a testimony to Nature's enduring power and resilience. “I hope to inspire viewers to take a closer look at the incredible diversity of life that exists right here in our backyard. By showcasing the beauty of our local landscapes and wildlife, I aim to foster a greater sense of appreciation and stewardship for our beautiful neighborhood.” The show opens on September 1 and closes on September 15 Held in conjunction with featured artist exhibits by Sneha Craig and Deanne Tiffany Multi-artist reception, Saturday, September 9 at 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Veterans are invited to cruise free this Veterans Day aboard City Cruises’ “Best of the Bay” sightseeing cruise. This 1.5 hour cruise provides those aboard with the best scenic views of the San Diego Bay, including Seaport Village, Coronado Island, Point Loma, Cabrillo National Monument and much more. When: Saturday, Nov. 11. The “Best of the Bay” cruise runs at three different times including 10:15-11:45 a.m., 12:00-1:30 p.m., and 1:45-3:15 p.m. How: Veterans must show their Military ID, Veterans Card, or a DD214 ID at the ticket booth for a free ticket.
