The Youth4Climate Fall 2023 Summit is for high school and college students interested in honing their skills as an activist of any kind! Participants will also attend multiple engaging workshops and activities aimed at fueling collaborative efforts to envision a climate-friendly future, build local movements and combat eco-anxiety in a nourishing and positive way. Beginning this March, on the third Saturday of every month, a brand-new event series will bring together cutting-edge contemporary art exhibitions, performances, family-friendly activities, artist conversations, music, and more, to celebrate contemporary art with the San Diego County creative community. In celebration of our new exhibitions, Edra Soto: Graft and Narsiso Martínez: Rethinking Essential, we invite our community to gather and grow; chill out or be challenged in a space for enjoyment, exchange, and open dialogue. ICA San Diego is excited to be working with Art of Elan on a season of programming that is based on ICA’s Artist-in-Residence program. Bach that can be found in almost every corner of the world to the vibrant sounds of composers Marco Granados, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Angelica Negrón, whose compositions all explore the intricacies of cross-cultural identities. In this ongoing sculptural project, Soto examines the role of architecture in the construction of Puerto Rican national identity, and how the transplantation of familiar architecture abroad can reflect the experience of Puerto Rican immigrants as they navigate the diaspora.
