Explore media, techniques, & creativity in a supportive, skill-building environment. Celebratory Food Paintings: Create luscious, textured food paintings in this art workshop! Inspired by paintings of the past, from Dutch Baroque banquet paintings to Wayne Theobald's opulent high-key paintings, you will use heavy paint mixed with modeling paste to create your own culinary delight on canvas. All supplies and light refreshments for each workshop are included in the cost. A break for lunch and relaxed discussion will occur midday. Our current exhibition, "Instructions for Unrest: Art Against Complacency," is an effort to showcase artists who are grappling with the world as it is now, and whose work allows us to take a step back and see events in a new light. So be sure to join us during our closing reception on May 14 at 6 p.m., when Alessandra Moctezuma will lead a Curator & Artist “Talk and Walk” through this wide-ranging show.
